The heart of the Michigan Association for College Admission Counseling is the involvement of its members. If you have an interest in serving on one or more of the following committees, please submit the form below.
Filling out this form does not obligate you to serve on a committee, but it is intended to establish a connection between you and the committee chair who can further explain the work of the committee.
Here are the committees and a brief description of the work they do:
Admissions Practices (educate membership on Statement of Principles of Good Practice and monitor compliance)
Advancement Committee (solicit sponsorship for MACAC programs, coordinate the Maggie Miller Scholarship, and manage donor relations)
Annual Conference (work with MACAC President-Elect and other committee members to plan and execute the MACAC Annual Conference)
College Fair Committees (serve on local planning committees for the Metro Detroit and West Michigan National College Fairs, along with regional Michigan college fairs.
Communications Committee (develop strategies to promote the MACAC mission with MACAC members, educators, and press via e-newsletter, website, and social media)
Government Relations (monitor and advocate for state and federal legislation relating to school counseling and college admission policy)
Inclusion, Access, and Success Committee (develop strategies and programing to support MACAC members working with underserved populations, coordinate Camp College, and plan Urban Counselor Workshops)
International Initiatives Committee guides the development of programs and services in helping students transition to postsecondary education in another country.
Membership Committee (promote the MACAC organization, solicit new members, and assist with member renewal)
Professional Development (organize professional development activities for the MACAC membership, both in-person and virtual events)
